Wow! What an evening! Our best and busiest event yet! And what a good theme: Death by Chocolate, because for some of the judges, it nearly was!

We had 11 entrants this month, and 27 lucky judges who sampled the delicious cupcakes. The competition has now moved permanently to the main bar area as there is alot more room, although it didnt seem like much room on the night!

The chocolate theme was a winner and certainly pulled in the punters. Big thank you to everyone who attended on the evening!

      The winner

Charlotte, a regular entrant to the competition, finally came up trumps with her Triple Chocolate Brownie Cupcakes.

They may have been small but they were certainly mighty! The sponge was a brownie mixture, with a hollowed out centre, filled with chocolate ganache. The topping was dark, milk and white chocolate finished with chocolate shavings. Delicious.

Charlotte won a £25 Casa Mia voucher, Hello! Cupcake, a cupcake notepad, free entry to next months competition, and a voucher from our new friends, Millies Fresh and Organic CONGRATULATIONS

2nd place went to last months 3rd place - Kathy with her Midnight Mint cupcakes - maybe next month she'll get the number 1 spot!

A delicious choclate sponge topped with a refreshing mint icing, and a gooey mint chocolate on top

3rd place went to a new baker - Lizzie, with Lizzies Triple Chocolate Roses

Chocolate sponge with a cream cheese and chocolate topping, which was just like a light mousse with a hand piped chocolate rose to finish.

Thanks once again to Mojo's for letting us take over the bar for the night.

The remaining entries on the night are as follows:

Lisas Brownie Bombs - if there was a prize for the best cupcake cases, Lisa would have won with her cute skull and crossbone cases

The cupcakes were chocolate sponge with a chocolate ganache. The bombs were cherries covered in chocolate, finished with popping candy!

Zoes Chocolate Cheesecake cupcakes

Chocolate sponge with a chocolate cream cheese icing finised with a crunchy biscuit topping and a drizzle of chocolate

Miguels CCCC's (Choc Chip Choc Cupcakes)

Chocolate sponge with chocolate chips, choclate icing, finished with choc chips in chocolate

Scotts Jamaican Juxtaposition Cupcakes

A delicious Rum and Beer and dark chocolate sponge, with a mandarin cheesecake topping (if I was allowed to have a favourite, this would be it)

Rhondas Chocolate Suprise

Chocolate sponge filled with a cherry compote and belgian chocolate sauce. The topping was whipped cream and choclate sprinkles. Yum.

Kat with her Choclate Truffle Cupcake

Chocolate sponge with a topping consisting of greek yoghurt, chocolate and golden syrup! Finished with some sprinkles!

My mums Chocolat et Chocolat Cupcakes

A choclate sponge with a white chocolate chunk in the middle, bourneville choclate butter icing drizzled with white and dark chocolate finished off with a chocolate!

Jo's Button It Cupcakes

Dark chocolate sponge, with a white chocolate ganache icing. And a HUGE chocolate button to finish.

Finito
